"Amatsu is a complementary therapy that brings balance to your body and your life. It is a modern interpretation of an ancient Japanese physical therapy which originated more than 5,000 years ago in the Far East.
Its fundamental principle is that good health is based on balance within the body, in the mind, in what we eat and drink, in how we use our energy and in our interaction with the world around us. It is effective in treating a very wide range of physical conditions.
Amatsu emerged from deep studies of Japanese Martial Arts which are dedicated to the protection of body, mind and spirit. For almost 2,000 years its practice was centred in Japan and only in the 1980s were its secrets opened to the West. Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi, Dennis Bartram and William Doolan pioneered the development of Amatsu in the West after realising that the therapy is soundly based on Western scientific principles of anatomy, physiology, bio-tensegrity and proprioception."
